Has Your Battery Gone Flat?

- Have you left any interior or exterior lights on?

- Have you left the car parked for an extended period without a battery charger connected or have not started the car to get a top up charge?

- Your battery may be aged and nearing its life's end.

If your battery has gone flat, charge it with an adequate automatic step stage charger, then test and monitor. Ideally get a battery and charge system test done.

Batteries generally last 40 months so if your car sounds slow to start or you've had to jump start it again, the battery is not holding charge and has reached its end, you will need to replace the battery.

If you need help and are not sure what to do, we can test your battery for you. If you know it's time for a replacement, call or book a test and we can help you out.

Fast Facts, Before Buying a Battery

Battery Facts

CCA Cold Carking Amps

The rating that defines the power needed to start an engine in cold temperatures. When rated it tells you what the battery can deliver at -17.8 degrees Celsius for 30 seconds before voltage dropping to 7.2 volts.

Ah Amp Hour C20

The rating that defines how much energy is stored before full discharge. The discharge rate is (C) 20 hours at 26.6 degrees celcius and not dropping less than 10.5 volts.

RC Reserve Capacity

The rating that defines the battery's ability to power with a faulty car alternator or charger. The rating is the amount of time in minutes at 26.6 degrees Celsius a battery can discharge at 25 amps and maintain voltage of 10.5 volts should your charging source fail.

Calcium Lead Acid

A lead acid, sealed maintenance free battery. The internal component calcium added to the plate for improved corrosion resistance, minimal gassing, less water usage and lower self discharge.

EFB & AGM Stop Start

EFB, Enhanced Flooded Battery. For compact mid range cars with basic stop start systems and lower voltage supply needs.

AGM, Absorbed Glass Mat. For larger range cars with advanced start stop systems and higher voltage supply needs such as more in-cabin electronic accessories.

Keep It Charged

Keeping it charged will extend the life of your battery, by topping it up and restoring its charge, giving you less chances of having a flat battery. A simple way of charging is to start and idle your car for 10-15 minutes. Or for vehicles and batteries stored with minimal use, have it connected to a step charger.
